Chimney flashing repair and installation
EXTERIOR SERVICE
Energy-rated replacements that actually fit.

Chimney rebuilds, crown repairs, full step- and counter-flashing, chase covers and cricket installation. Chimneys are the #1 source of roof leaks — we fix them at the source, not by smearing tar on the problem.

THUNDER PRO CHIMNEY SYSTEMS
The right solution depends on structural safety and usage

We do not treat every chimney project as a simple cosmetic repair. Structural integrity, masonry decay, ventilation dynamics, and internal lining conditions dictate whether your system requires targeted restoration or a complete structural rebuild.

01
Targeted Internal Repair

Stainless Steel Liner Installation

Best when the exterior masonry structure is stable, but the internal flue tile is cracked, degraded, or unsafe for modern appliance ventilation.

High-velocity installation within the existing fluePremium UL-listed heavy-gauge stainless steel linersIdeal for restoring safety without disturbing exterior brickwork
02
Best Corrective Masonry Path

Full-Frame Rebuild & Crown Restoration

Used when structural water penetration, spalling bricks, or missing flashing have severely compromised the chimney above the roofline.

Complete structural tear-down and masonry reconstructionAdvanced cast-in-place concrete chimney crown upgradesMaximum protection against persistent freeze-thaw cracking
03
Water Management + Security

Chase Cover & Custom Cap Systems

Comprehensive perimeter upgrades engineered to block structural water intake, animal nesting, and dangerous downdrafts all at once.

Custom-fabricated, rust-proof stainless steel or copper capsEliminates leaking factory-standard galvanized chase coversPairs perfectly with high-flexibility counter-flashing details
EARLY WARNING
things to consider
01
Warning 01

Spalling Brick or Mortar

Flaking, cracking, or breaking brick faces indicate that severe moisture retention is actively blowing the masonry apart during winter freeze cycles.

02
Warning 02

Cracked Flue Tiles or Creosote

Visible gaps or heavy glazed creosote buildup in the clay tile liner pose an immediate, severe house fire risk.

03
Warning 03

White Powdery Staining

Efflorescence on the exterior brickwork means water is traveling through the chimney core, dissolving minerals along the way.

04
Warning 04

Active Ceiling Damper Leaks

Water dripping into the firebox or staining nearby drywall means the chimney crown, cap, or base flashing has suffered catastrophic failure.

QUESTIONS
Things people actually ask.

More questions? Call +1 (555) 123-7846 or request an estimate — we don't believe in pressure sales.

Insert or full-frame?
Insert replaces the sash inside the existing frame — fast, cheap, keeps your trim. Full-frame rips everything out — more expensive but lets us re-flash and insulate. We recommend full-frame for failed frames, water damage, or pre-1980 homes
What about lead paint?
If your home is pre-1978, we're required to use RRP-certified lead-safe practices — plastic containment, HEPA vacuums, wet clean. Every crew lead is RRP-certified
Energy savings?
Going from single-pane to ENERGY STAR double-pane typically cuts window heat loss by 50%. Real dollar savings depend on your heating system, but expect $200-500/year on an average 2,000 sq ft Maine home
Can you match my existing grille pattern?
Yes. Bring a photo or measurement. Most manufacturers offer 2/2, 6/6, 9/6, 9/9, prairie, and custom patterns. Grilles between glass (GBG) or simulated divided light (SDL) available
FREE ESTIMATE — NO OBLIGATION
